Detour to MKE
It is famously said that there are just two seasons in the Upper Midwest: winter and road construction. While we can’t change the weather, we can work around it to make sure getting to Mitchell Airport is still as easy as possible while the I-94 north/south corridor is under construction. Check out the latest updates and detour information at www.flymke.com/drive, and to avoid any unwanted surprises on your next trip to the airport, be sure to add 15 minutes to your travel time.
AirTran's new "Brewers 1" plane supports YMCA kids
On May 17, AirTran’s custom-painted plane with throwback Milwaukee Brewers colors and logo was unveiled at MKE. Present for the reveal and to celebrate the aircraft’s new look were Hall of Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers, mascot Bernie Brewer, the Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages and AirTran, Brewers and YMCA executives among other VIP guests. Kids from the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee pulled the 120,000-lb aircraft 20 feet at the event to earn $50,000 for their summer sports program.
